I was just watching a video of one of the IM guru’s who was talking about how important it was to ping your RSS feeds to get indexed by the search engines. I can testify to the truth of this reality.
Before I started writing articles I had heard about pinging and how it could get your website indexed to the world. So as a new Affiliate Marketer I would ping each article I would write. At the time my coach was coaching me how to promote Backlink Agent which is a sweet tool that helps you find 1000's of backlinks for your website or blog. I would write an article, ping it with about ten different ping sites, and the next morning my article would be indexed by Google. Not only index but often in the top ten searches. My coach was amazed! Pinging is an important part of article marketing and one should ping ever RSS feed he/she has when updating a blog or writing a new article.
Backlinks, like pinging, is another great source for you to get indexed and to help drive traffic to your blog, landing page, or website. As I mentioned above, Backlink Agent is a very nice tool to help you find literally thousands of potential backlinks.
Here is a BIG tip about backlinks -- Backlinks come in the thousands but they are not all relevant. You only want to choose sites that are relevant to your site to backlink with or your audience will be lost and wonder where you came from. You want customers who are interested in what you have to offer.
Backlink Agent can help you sort through these thousands of potential backlinks by finding them for you and then presenting you with a list that you can go through to identify your relevant backlinks.
Backlink Agent isn't free but you will think it is when you see the price! The value you get is well worth it. Check it out and you can try Backlink Agent for free. You are just limited by the number of searches it brings back for you.
So remember to ping your new articles and updates to your blog or website and get them indexed by the search engines and that when it comes to backlinks remember, you only want relevant backlinks.

3 Big DON'Ts when trying to build backlinks
When playing the board game Monopoly the one place you don’t want to land is the go to jail spot. When creating backlinks there are some places you absolutely want to stay away from. I’m going to share with you 3 Big DO NOTS when trying to drive traffic to your site.
Tip 1: Bad Neighbors – You don’t want them!
On the Internet a bad neighbor is someone with questionable behavior or reputation that has a link to your site. Check out the site closely before adding your URL to their site when adding backlinks. You can use Google to give you a clue if the site you are backlinking with is reputable. In Google’s search box type “site:siteX.com”, where “siteX.com” is the site you are performing a check about. If you don’t get any results back then it would be wise not to link with that site
Tip 2: Don’t get caught Stuffing Keywords.
Keyword stuffing is where you duplicate content or the content you have lacks original content, has hidden links or text, uses doorway pages, has deceptive titles, uses machine generated pages, or violates copyright laws. Search engines such as Yahoo and Google tend to really disapprove keyword stuffing. A good rule of thumb is to just be honest in your dealings with your fellow men. Hmmm, where have I heard that before?
Tip 3: Avoid Link Exchanges
Avoid using link exchange practices. Link exchanges are when you link to a site and in return they want to backlink with your site. Having inbound links are ok but having a lot more outbound links than what you have inbound links for is NOT GOOD. If you link to a link farm that could mean that the number of outbound links on you site could greatly outnumber your inbound links and you could be banned from search engines. This would be bad because it’s very important to have a strong rating with the search engines so traffic can be driven to your site.
My intent for sharing these tips was not to scare you off or discourage you from using backlinks. My objective is to simply help you avoid trouble so you don’t get banned.
